This is what a sign should have said in front of our next stop, the Forbidden City. We spent an hour or two walking through it, and we only saw the the plazas in the center. There were at least 5 or 6 plazas worth of city we hadn't seen. It was huge! Of course, most of it you can't enter... But it was so intricate too, each bridge had a bunch of drainage pipes that were shaped like dragons heads. Talk about indoor plumbing! There is even an entire wall devoted to an entrance for the emperor. After that, we walked up to this mountaintop pagoda, or small temple, and gazed upon the forbidden city from up 48 meters in the air. Nothing really happened after that.

Imagine walkng through 7 of these courtyards as emperor, just to get to a meeting!
